Biography & Interests
Dr. Enrique Coronado holds a B.S. in Mechatronics Engineering (2012) from the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí (UASLP), Mexico; an M.S. in Advanced Robotics (2017) from the EMARO+ program (University of Genoa, Italy, and École Centrale de Nantes, France); and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Systems Engineering (2020) from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT), Japan.
His career spans pivotal roles in Japanese academia, including serving as an Assistant Professor at TUAT (2020–2022) and as a Researcher at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) (2022–2024).
In 2024, he was appointed Senior Researcher for the Human-Evolving AI & Robotics Team (HEART) at AIST. He leads initiatives in Responsible Agentic AI, fostering international collaborations with institutions in Mexico, Canada, Norway, and Australia.
Since 2026, he has served as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Tokyo. His work blends science and design to co-create solutions that are trusted, ethically aligned, and dedicated to human well-being.
